The Missouri Treated Timber Law requires that any wood treater selling treated wood products into Missouri posess a treated timber producers license prior to offering their products for sale. The cost of the license is $200.00 annually. The license period runs from July 1 through June 30.

Treated timber producers are inspected on a routine basis to ensure that Missourians are purchasing quality treated wood products, as well as ensuring that these products are branded correctly prior to being sold to the public. Core samples are taken at producer locations and analyzed by MDA’s laboratory to ensure that these products are being treated accordingly. In addition, product branding is also observed to ensure compliance with the law. As with dealer locations, if any treated wood product is found to be deficient in treatment or branded improperly, stopsale orders are issued. These stopsale orders remain in effect until the law has been complied with.
