Wine and Grape Board to Announce Governor’s Cup Winner on Thursday

The Missouri Wine and Grape Board will be announcing the 2008 Governor’s Cup winner today at a wine industry gathering of Missouri winery owners, winemakers, winery staff, grape growers and industry members. The winner was selected from the Best of Class honorees at the Missouri Wine Competition held July 18-19, 2008 in Columbia. Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder will unveil the 2008 Governor’s Cup winner. Director of Agriculture Don Steen will also be in attendance.

Over 225 Missouri wines were presented at the 2008 Missouri Wine Competition. Ten Judges from across the U.S. awarded 10 Best of Class, 26 Gold, 47 Silver and 67 Bronze medals. The Governor’s Cup is the coveted award selected from the Best of Class honorees. |
