Fourth Grade Student Selected as Bonnie Plant Scholarship Recipient

The Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Katie Smith will present Mickayla Strother, a student at Jamestown C-I School, a $1000 savings bond as part of the 2007 Bonnie Plants Third Grade Cabbage Program.
Mickayla participated in the program as a 3rd grader at Jamestown Elementary and was selected from over 90 students that participated in Missouri. Mickayla is the daughter of Mitch and DeAnn Strother and is a student in Ms. Sarah Russell’s 4th grade class. |

| WHY: |
Each year, Bonnie Plant Farm hosts a Cabbage Program for all 3rd graders. Students are encouraged to partake in growing a cabbage that can reach over forty pounds. This program is a fun, rewarding way to get students involved in gardening.
