MDA Plans 2006 Annual Ag Golf Classic Fundraiser

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) – Prepare for a day of great golf, food and fun at the 2006 Annual Ag Golf Classic, hosted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. The yearly outing is a day for agriculture leaders across Missouri to come together for a worthy cause, while at the same time testing their prowess on the links.

This year’s four-person scramble is set for Saturday, September 9, at the beautiful Sycamore Creek Golf Club in Osage Beach. Entry is set at $200 per team, with a limit of 36 teams. To sign up your foursome, contact Steve Allison at (573) 751-1199 or email him at Steve.Allison@mda.mo.gov.

“This is a great opportunity for supporters of youth and agriculture to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Lake of the Ozarks, while contributing to a very worthwhile event,” said Fred Ferrell, MDA Director.

All proceeds from the tournament will be directed to the Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture Scholarship Fund which awards scholarships to young people studying agriculture curriculums at a Missouri college or university. Nearly 230 scholarships have been awarded since 1992.
